Folks, I really enjoy working on Around the Thicket. I’ve been writing in diaries and journals since junior high, and while my blog is a bit more polished, it feels like a natural extension of something I’ve been doing a long time.
Blogging is exciting because it offers a lot of opportunities. Opportunities to join a wider community of parents and educators. Opportunities to develop my own thoughts and ideas. Even opportunities to earn a bit of money.
Presently, I earn money in two different ways on this blog.
First, I’m an Amazon Associate. They like me to have a formal statement about this:
Around the Thicket is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk.
This is a rather formal way of saying that if you click to a link to Amazon from my blog and purchase something, then I earn a small commission and you aren’t charged anything extra. I only use affiliate links for items I own, use, and love. The exception is books, which I occasionally borrow from the library instead of purchasing myself. In either case, the opinions are always my own and honest.
Second, I earn money by displaying ads in my sidebar. These come through from Google Adsense. While I don’t personally control what is displayed, Google does its best to make sure they are relevant to you.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my disclosure.
