I use affiliate links throughout my website. For example, as an Amazon associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. This means that when you click on an affiliate link, and purchase a product, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only use affiliate links on products that I find personally worthwhile, useful, and of value.

I am also a participant in the AbeBooks Inc. Affiliate Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to abebooks.com. 

Privacy and Cookies Policy

I do everything we can to protect your privacy. I never sell or share email lists with other people or businesses. I also want to be clear about what information I store and how I keep it safe. That’s why I have this privacy policy. It states when and why I collect personal information, how it gets used, and how I keep it safe.

Types of data I collect

Cookies

Like most websites, I use cookies (little bits of data that are stored on your computer). Cookies let me know if you have visited before. They can improve your experience on my site, since I use them to store your preferences. I also use cookies to understand how visitors use my site. However, cookies aren’t needed in order to use my site. Information from cookies is anonymous and can’t be used to identify individuals. Google Analytics

When someone visits aroundthethicket.com, I use Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of the visitor’s behaviour on the site. This helps me learn things like how many visitors I have to different pages of my site. When this information is processed, it is anonymous: I can’t identify anyone. I never attempt, nor allow Google to attempt, to find out the identities of who is visiting my site.

Mailing lists

When you sign up to receive emails from me, I take your personal information: namely, your email address. This lets me get in touch with you about news and updates on my blog, to get in touch with you if I need more information from you, to check that my records are correct, and to see if you are enjoying the blog! I do not share, sell, trade, or rent email lists with anyone else. Your contact details are extremely important and I’m so glad you feel you can trust me with them.

I use MailerLite to send emails. MailerLite allows me to see statistics about email opening and clicks to help me keep track of how I’m doing. This is pretty standard across the industry, and it helps me keep my emails relevant to you and your interests.
