Spiritual growth is more than Bible study

Now I love Bible study and talking about the Bible. But I am firmly in the camp of ‘we aren’t going to think our way to holiness’. We are loving, desiring creatures, and our loves and desires are shaped by many things.

Hence my latest article on Momma Theologians. I think this can be a tough one if church is disappointing for a season – even a long season. But church is one of those desire-shaping things – a big one. And so even if it’s dry, we should still go.

Of course, disappointing and dry is not the same as dysfunctional, so discernment applies here.
